Professional Installation - Solar Kit (Greater London only)

Prefer to have your plug-in solar kit set up by our team? This service covers professional installation of the Bolt 460W, Bolt 920W, Storm 360W Flexible and Storm 710W Flexible plug-in solar kits. We mount the panels, connect the microinverter and AC cable, commission the system and show you how it works, all in a single visit.

Available in Greater London only. If you are outside our installation area, every Thunder kit is designed for DIY plug-in setup and comes with a free setup video call.

How it works

1. Add this service to your basket together with your kit. Already own a Thunder kit? You can book the installation on its own.
2. After your order, we contact you within two working days to arrange a short video call. We confirm the mounting location, socket access and any site details, then agree an installation date.
3. Our installer arrives with your kit, completes the installation and walks you through your new system before leaving.

What's included

• Pre-installation video call to confirm your location and requirements
• Mounting of the solar panels using the mounting hardware supplied with your kit (flat roof, wall, fence, garden or balcony)
• Connection of panels, microinverter, DC cables and AC connection cable
• Commissioning of the system and setup of the Hoymiles S-Miles Home monitoring app on your phone
• Safety check, tidy cable routing and a full walkthrough of how to use your system
• Guidance on completing the G98 notification to your electricity network operator

What's not included

• Electrical work beyond plugging into an existing socket, such as installing a new outdoor socket or changes to your consumer unit
• Scaffolding, ladders above ground-floor height or other access equipment
• Structural work, drilling through party walls or roof penetrations
• Landlord, freeholder or planning permissions — please confirm these before booking
• Removal or modification of existing solar or electrical systems

If your installation needs any of the above, let us know on the pre-installation call and we will advise or provide a separate quote.

Before your installation

• Make sure there is a suitable, accessible mains socket within reach of the AC connection cable supplied with your kit (5 m or 10 m).
• Ensure the mounting location is clear and accessible on the day.
• Have your Wi-Fi details ready for the monitoring app setup.

The price includes VAT and travel within Greater London. One installation service covers one kit; if you are installing more than one system, please add one service per kit.
